Detroit Diesel Engine 18/11/2008
The Detroit Diesel DD15 took nearly five years to develop and cost $1.5 billion to do so. The Detroit Diesel engine, was unveiled Oct. 19 2007 at the companys Redford, Michigan plant. The six-cylinder DD15 diesel engine uses 14.8 liters and incorporates the new Amplified Common Rail System (ACRS) and the innovated turbo compounding technology. The engine is actually the first one in a series from Detroit Diesel that will range three categories, 12.8 liters, 14.8 liters and 15.6 liters.
